Not what you think this means. May means the opposite what you think it means.

Some may think they are a very bad sinners and have "fallen from Grace", but NOT so, means the opposite.

People who think they are "goody to shoes" trying to add to "saved by grace alone"  to help them to earn eternal life may have ''fallen from Grace" thinking their "good works" is helping them "earn" eternal life. They treat their "good works" as a "security blanket" to be sure they go to heaven.

Eph 2:8,9, 10  Ephesians 2:8-10 (New King James Version)

2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,   (Also:  Rom 4:16, 10:14-17; Ph 1:29; 2 Tim 1:9)

 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.  (also: Rom 3:20, 27; 4:2; 1 Cor 1:29-31 ; 2 Tim 1:9)

2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (also Eph 4:24; 1 Cor 3:9 ; 2 Cor 5: 5, 17; titus 2:14)

Have you Fallen from Grace?

Hebrews 6: 4-6 was written to the Hebrews or Jewish  Christians who were trying to work their way to heaven by obeying all the law in the OT and believing  in Jesus.

They were  thinking that this is how they get to heaven. Add the two together. But no,  we can not earn eternal life by doing any works ourselves, we can take NO credit at all for getting eternal life. We are saved by grace, alone. It is a 100% gift from God to us.

Heb 6: 4-6

6:4 For it is impossible to restore to repentance those who were once enlightened -- those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,

6.5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come

6:6 and who then turn away from God. (turn away from “grace alone” saves you) It is impossible to bring such people to repentance again because they are nailing the Son of God to the cross again by rejecting him, holding him up to public shame.

6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

6.5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,

6:6 if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Eph 2:8,9, 10  Ephesians 2:8-10 (New King James Version)

John 6:28, 29 NLT

27 But you shouldn't be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you. For God the Father has sent me for that very purpose."

28 They replied, "What does God want us to do?"

29 Jesus told them, "This is what God wants you to do: Believe in the one he has sent."

30 They replied, "You must show us a miraculous sign if you want us to believe in you. What will you do for us?

31 After all, our ancestors ate manna while they journeyed through the wilderness! As the Scriptures say, 'Moses gave them bread from heaven to eat.' "

32 Jesus said, "I assure you, Moses didn't give them bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven.

33 The true bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world."

34 "Sir," they said, "give us that bread every day of our lives."

35 Jesus replied, "I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in me will never thirst.

36 But you haven't believed in me even though you have seen me.

37 However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.

38 For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do what I want.

39 And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them to eternal life at the last day.

40 For it is my Father's will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life -- that I should raise them at the last day."

Luke 18:9
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:

The Pharisee and Tax Collector
9And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: 10"Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11"The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: 'God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.…

Luke 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said , I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Jesus' Prayer of Thanksgiving
21At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I praise You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. 22"All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."…

Mark 4:10-12

10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11 And he said unto them,

Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God:

but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

12 That seeing they may see , and not perceive ; and hearing they may hear , and not understand ;

lest at any time they should be converted , and their sins should be forgiven them.

10When he was alone, the Twelve and the others around him asked him about the parables.

10And when he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables.

10As soon as He was alone, His followers, along with the twelve, began asking Him about the parables.

10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.

10When He was alone with the Twelve, those who were around Him asked Him about the parables.

11He told them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables

11And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables,

11And He was saying to them, "To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but those who are outside get everything in parables,

11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:

11He answered them, "The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to those outside, everything comes in parables

12so that, "'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!'"

12so that “they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven.”

12so that WHILE SEEING, THEY MAY SEE AND NOT PERCEIVE, AND WHILE HEARING, THEY MAY HEAR AND NOT UNDERSTAND, OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT RETURN AND BE FORGIVEN."

12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.

12so that they may look and look, yet not perceive; they may listen and listen, yet not understand; otherwise, they might turn back-- and be forgiven."
