Both times he was a polygamist   Both Young age  vs.  old age

God is very pro-polygamist. But NOT to pagan women.

Solomon wrote Ecc 7:26 in his very old age

Song of Solomon and Proverbs were written in his young age.

Remember near the end of King Solomon life very old age, many pagan Kings gave Solomon their many pagan daughters to marry,  so Solomon would not destroy their nation.

These evil pagan wives lead old aged King Solomon to sinner against God and he joined in the worship of these pagan gods with his pagan wives major sin against God. This is the proper context to read Ecc 7:26

God is very pro-polygamy,  but NOT to Pagan women!!!

Young Solomon Wrote Prov 31:10-11: These were Godly Hebrew, NON-pagan wives.

Proverbs 31: 10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is worth more than precious rubies.

11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12She will not hinder him but help him all her life.

Song of Solomon  was Young King Solomon trying to sexually seduce his 141s’ Hebrew, Jewish wife. But they were never married in SOS because near the end in SOS 8:10 she was still a virgin. Married Hebrew wives break their hymen in the middle of the wedding day while others wait. To prove she is a virgin because they pay a lot of money for a virgin. Man made set up, NOT God’s rules.

In Ecc 7:26  Solomon in very old age, These women were his pagan wives of his old age.

One discovery: A woman can be a bitter pill to swallow, full of seductive scheming and grasping. The lucky escape her; the undiscerning get caught.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 GW

I find that a woman whose thoughts are [like] traps and snares is more bitter than death itself. Even her hands are [like] chains. Whoever pleases God will escape her, but she will catch whoever continues to sin.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 GNT

I found something more bitter than death - the woman who is like a trap. The love she offers you will catch you like a net, and her arms around you will hold you like a chain. A man who pleases God can get away, but she will catch the sinner.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 LEB

I myself found [that] more bitter than death [is] the woman who [is] a trap, whose heart [is] a snare, and whose hands [are] bonds. The one who pleases God escapes from her, but the sinner is caught by her.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 NCV

I found that some women are worse than death and are as dangerous as traps. Their love is like a net, and their arms hold men like chains. A man who pleases God will be saved from them, but a sinner will be caught by them.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 NIRV

And I found a woman bitterer than death, the which is (like) the snare of hunters, and her heart is (like) a net, and her hands be (like) bonds; he that pleaseth God shall escape her, but he that is a sinner, shall be taken of her. (And I found a woman more bitter than death, who is like a hunter's snare, and her heart is like a net, and her hands be like bonds; he who pleaseth God shall escape her, but he who is a sinner shall be caught by her.

Proverbs 31: 10 Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is worth more than precious rubies.

11 Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. 12She will not hinder him but help him all her life.

God is pro-polygamy (2 Sam 12:8, unlimited sex partners, SOS 6:8, unlimited sex partners, Nu 31:18  God gave 12,000 soldiers 16,000 concubines sex partners,  )

but NOT to older pagan women brainwashed to worship their pagan fertility gods and other Baal pagan gods.  (older pagan women were killed in Nu 31: 17, and Nu 25: 1-9,  but young pagan girls virgins, not brainwashed in the pagan ways, God gave to the Hebrews Jews) Nu 25: 1-9, 1Cor 10:8, Nu 31:18

God gave sexual freedom to all creation, (including all humans)  at creation to unlimited Sex partners. All God’s creation proves that.

2 Samuel 12:8

8 I gave you his house and his wives and the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. And if that had not been enough, I would have given you much, much more.  (Unlimited sex partners)

Song of Solomon 6:8

8 There may be sixty wives, all queens, and eighty concubines and unnumbered virgins available to me.  (Unlimited sex partners)

Deut 25:5 "If two brothers are living together on the same property and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Instead, her husband's brother must marry her and fulfill the duties of a brother-in-law. 6 The first son she bears to him will be counted as the son of the dead brother, so that his name will not be forgotten in Israel. (God promote polygamy)

Nu 31 --  God promotes polygamy  Remember this is only one of many Battles.

But God is against anyone marrying a older pagan women as Solomon did in his old age.

1 Then the LORD said to Moses, 2 "Take vengeance on the Midianites for leading the Israelites into idolatry. ( Nu 25:1-8)

5 … a total of twelve thousand men armed for battle.

7 They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men.

15 "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded.

16 "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. (Nu 25:1-9 1 Cor 10:8) They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people.(23,000 to 24,000 were killed for worship the pagan fertility god)

17Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man.

18 Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves. (32,000 virgin girls, 16,000 for the 12,000 soldiers) pro-polygamy by God himself

35 and 32,000 young girls.

40 16,000 young girls, of whom 32 were the LORD's share.

46 and 16,000 young girls.  (to 12,000 Soldiers)

49 and said, "Sir, we have accounted for all the men who went out to battle under our command; not one of us is missing!

(foreign women were pagan worshipers)

King 11:1 Now King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh's daughter, he married women from Moab, Ammon, Edom, Sidon, and from among the Hittites.

All these nation worship the pagan fertility god and Baal other pagan gods

2 The LORD had clearly instructed his people not to intermarry with those nations, because the women they married would lead them to worship their gods. Yet Solomon insisted on loving them anyway. 3 He had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines. And sure enough, they led his heart away from the LORD.

4 In Solomon's old age, they turned his heart to worship their gods instead of trusting only in the LORD his God, as his father, David, had done.

5 Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Sidonians, and Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites.

6 Thus, Solomon did what was evil in the LORD's sight; he refused to follow the LORD completely, as his father, David, had done.

7 On the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, he even built a shrine for Chemosh, the detestable god of Moab, and another for Molech, the detestable god of the Ammonites.

8 Solomon built such shrines for all his foreign wives to use for burning incense and sacrificing to their gods.

9 The LORD was very angry with Solomon, for his heart had turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.

10 He had warned Solomon specifically about worshiping other gods, but Solomon did not listen to the LORD's command.

11So now the LORD said to him,

"Since you have NOT kept my covenant and have disobeyed my laws, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to one of your servants.

12 But for the sake of your father, David, I will not do this while you are still alive. I will take the kingdom away from your son.

Deut 17:17 The king must not take many wives for himself, because they will lead him away from the LORD. And he must not accumulate vast amounts of wealth in silver and gold for himself."

Nehemiah 13:26 "Wasn't this exactly what led King Solomon of Israel into sin?" I demanded. "There was no king from any nation who could compare to him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel. But even he was led into sin by his foreign wives.

Nehemiah 13:26 GW

GOD'S WORD Translation

I said, "Wasn't it because of marriages like these that King Solomon of Israel sinned? There wasn't a king like him among all nations. God loved him, and God made him king of all Israel. But his non-Israelite wives led him to sin.

Nehemiah 13:26 MSG

The Message

Didn't Solomon the king of Israel sin because of women just like these? Even though there was no king quite like him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel, foreign women were his downfall.

Nehemiah 13:23 About the same time I realized that some of the men of Judah had married women from Ashdod, Ammon, and Moab. (these were very pagan nations)

24Even worse, half their children spoke in the language of Ashdod or some other people and could not speak the language of Judah at all.

25 So I confronted them and called down curses on them. I beat some of them and pulled out their hair. I made them swear before God that they would not let their children intermarry with the pagan people of the land.

26 "Wasn't this exactly what led King Solomon of Israel into sin?" I demanded. "There was no king from any nation who could compare to him, and God loved him and made him king over all Israel. But even he was led into sin by his foreign wives.

27 How could you even think of committing this sinful deed and acting unfaithfully toward God by marrying foreign women?"  (these are pagan women God hates.)
