Bible Pagan Fertility gods Bible Verses

In 1 Cor 10:8 Paul defines the word fornication =sexual immoral = pornieo,  and describes it  in Nu 25: 1-9 Nu 31 as joining in the worship of the pagan fertility god one of Baals many gods.

This is the major pagan religion of all the Bible days. Both OT and NT. Both Jewish Hebrew, Israelis,  and Christians,  were surrounded by this worship of the pagan fertility god in hope of getting best farm crops and make lot more money.

The major income was farming in the Bible days. So this pagan fertility god was a very important god of that day.  This is fornication NOT "single sex".

God made sex and sexual enjoyment and said it was very good and excellent. Gen 1:31 God gave all creation sexual freedom at creation. SOS 6:8, 2 Sam 12:8

So sex is very good and God's ideal. But joining in with a sex orgy to worship a pagan fertility god makes God very angry, because God created all things and created sex and gave sexual freedom to all to enjoy . No man made pagan fertility god created nothing at all.

·         Isaiah 17:10 MSG

Nu 25:1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat , and bowed down to their gods.

3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
4
And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.
5
And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
6
And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
7 And when Phine has, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

Nu 31: 1 Then the LORD said to Moses,
2 "Take vengeance on the Midianites for leading the Israelites into idolatry. After that, you will die and join your ancestors."
3 So Moses said to the people, "Choose some men to fight the LORD's war of vengeance against Midian.
4
From each tribe of Israel, send one thousand men into battle.  (12,000 soldiers)

15 "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded.

16
"These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people (Nu 25: 1-9)

(24,000 killed because they join in with the pagan worship of the pagan fertility god worship, they did the same activity  in 1 Cor 10:8) (Paul defines this "fornication")

17
Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man.
18
Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves. hath known man by lying with him.
18
But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.

35 and 32,000 young girls.

42 The half of the plunder belonging to the people of Israel, which Moses had separated from the half belonging to the fighting men, 43 amounted to 337,500 sheep, 44 36,000 cattle, 45 30,500 donkeys, 46 and 16,000 young girls.

God gave 12,000 soldiers, 16,000 virgin girls that did not join in the worship of the fertility pagan god as concubines. God promotes polygamy.

But God had them kill all who join in with the worship of the pagan fertility god.
