Lust  KJV,

Also, Check out: http://inkaboutit4u.com/?p=Web_Pages_List

NCV, BBE does not use the word “lust” in their versions.

The word “Lust” is greatly misunderstood and taken out of context ,  in the Bible by most.

Two versions of the Bible do NOT use the word  “lust” at all, the New Century Version and the Bible in Basic English.

This helps to clear up some of the misunderstanding.

Remember always keep it in context with both the whole Bible and the local context.  If you think the “lust” word has a sexual context then keep it within context of  the whole Bible context.

Listed below is some of the correct context to keep in mind.

God gave all creation at creation 100% public nudity and public sexual freedom to have many sex partners over a life time at creation.

God created all animals and humans, “one male, one female” but NOT to only have one sex partner for a life time. Do you see God’s desined programing natural instinct  into all animals to have only one sex partner for a life time? NO,  you do not! Same with humans God’s build in programming   or God designed human nature.  2 Sam 12:8,  SOS 6:8

SOS 6:8 There may be sixty wives, all queens, and eighty concubines and unnumbered virgins available to me.   (unlimited sex partner given to all creation at creation including humans)

2 Sam 12:8 I gave you his house and his wives and the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. And if that had not been enough, I would have given you much, much more.    (unlimited sex partner given to all creation at creation including humans)

Many people think looking at a “NUDE” person is “lust” or a sin, but this can NOT be true.

God wanted and wants all people to be nudist. At creation God put all animals and all humans, alike, in the Garden of Eden 100% public nudist, and to have 100% public sex in front of everyone, NOT to hide, but 100% public nudity and public sex,  with NO shame and NO guilt and NOT a sin in any way and NOT “lust”.

So it is a wrong conclusion to think God thinks public nudity is evil or bad or a sin, it is God’s desire and God’s design.

Also public sexuality was God’s desire and God’s design. If we go to any large ZOO in the spring time we clearly see God’s,  “build in programming” or God’s “natural instincts” programed for all animals by God himself , 100% public nudity and public sex with no shame and no guilt and not a sin of any kind.

God said it was “excellent in EVERY way”.

God’s “human nature”  is still excellent, still God’s creation, still God’s design, only when we humans add the man made human “sin principle” to it we can made it a sin. “Man made “sin principle = “work of flesh” in Gal 5:19

Jas 2:12 - So whenever you speak, or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law of love, the law that set you free.

Romans 7:4 (GW) In the same way, brothers and sisters, you

have died to the laws in Moses' Teachings through

Christ's body. You belong to someone else, the one who

was brought back to life. As a result, we can do what

God wants.

Ro 13:9 - For the commandments against adultery and murder and stealing and coveting – and any other commandment are all summed up in this one commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

2Co 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Ga 5:19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, (man made “sin principle”) your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality (fornication = join in the pagan fertility god worship sexually) , impure thoughts (thinking of pagan fertility god) , eagerness for lustful pleasure,

20 idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group,

21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Galatians 5:19-22 (Bible in Basic English)

19 Now the works of the flesh are clear, which are these: evil desire, unclean things, wrong use of the senses,

20 Worship of images, use of strange powers, hates, fighting, desire for what another has, angry feelings, attempts to get the better of others, divisions, false teachings,

21 Envy, uncontrolled drinking and feasting, and such things: of which I give you word clearly, even as I did in the past, that they who do such things will have no part in the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, a quiet mind, kind acts, well-doing, faith,

Galatians 5:19-22 (New Century Version)

19 The wrong things the sinful self does are clear: being sexually unfaithful, not being pure, taking part in sexual sins,

20 worshiping gods, doing witchcraft, hating, making trouble, being jealous, being angry, being selfish, making people angry with each other, causing divisions among people,

21 feeling envy, being drunk, having wild and wasteful parties, and doing other things like these. I warn you now as I warned you before: Those who do these things will not inherit God's kingdom.

22 But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

1 Gen 1:31. Genesis 1:31 (New Living Translation)

1:31 “Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was excellent in every way. This all happened on the sixth day.

Act 10:15 "If God says something is acceptable, don't say it isn't."

Also, God commanded Isaiah to walk around PUBLICLY NUDE  for 3 years. Did God command Isaiah to “sin” for 3 years by telling him to walk 100% PUBLICLY NUDE?  NO way, because there is NOTHING wrong with walking around PUBLICLY NUDE. NOT a sin and NOT lust. And if you looked at him nude you did NOT “lust”.

(Isa 20:3) And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia;

God himself chose the male “penis” to be a “sign” of Abraham covenant with God. So is it a “sin” or “lust” if you show off your “penis” as a sign.

Genesis 17:10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. 11 And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. 12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. {he that is eight.: Heb. a son of eight days} 13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. 14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.

In the Roman days they had over 150 “Nude” Gymnasiums, “sports in the public Nudity”, and in them was both a “Christian Church  and Jewish Synagogue.  Meaning, that either saw anything wrong with public Nudity in public sport and NUDITY in Church  at all.

In the Bible days the Greeks had Olympics in the public nude for all to see. Nothing wrong with it. No God hang up or No human hang ups over nudity.

Also remember that all over the area  was a major  pagan cultic religious that used as part  of worship their pagan fertility god, a  sex orgy , the Bible calls this “fornication” from Greek word “porneia”

They would display paintings, and stone images of  their Nude pagan fertility god. People would join in a sex orgy as part of worship to this pagan fertility god, Bible called this “fornication” .

Nude painting or nude photo of the nude pagan fertility pagan god for worship is BAD. Not to worship any image or photo of any nude fertility pagan god or any pagan god.

But normal people's nude photos or painting NOT to worship as a god, NOT a pagan god,  but to just enjoy the nude beauty is NOT bad or NOT a sin at all.

See the major big differences, why one is bad, and the other is ok?

Some religious people chose to  ignore the differences and say all nude pictures are evil. This is not true. God has no problem with all people walking around publicly nude. NOT a sin at all. They like," throw the baby out with the dirty bath water"

At creation God wanted all people to be publicly NUDE.

But we do NOT make up some man made  nude fertility god and call it a fertility god and worship it as a pagan fertility god. That makes God angry. Worshiping a pagan fertility god. Nu 25: 1-9 Nu 31 1 Cor 10:8.

This pagan fertility god was one of Baals many pagan gods.

Compare 1 Cor 10:8 use the word “fornication” describe it in Nu 25:1-9 . It does NOT = or mean “pre-marital sex” or “single sex” as the Bible dictionary states. It has a wrong definition.  (Dictionaries only reflex how people are using or misusing a word.) This is always related to the worship of this pagan fertility god that was a major religious of all the Bible times.

Many religious people want to call any sexual activity outside the “one male, one female” marriage  to be “fornication” this is totally incorrect. And very misleading. Taken out of context.

This is  Totally wrong conclusion.  Fornication “ is 98% in clearly in connection directly with the pagan fertility god worship.  The other 2% is just lazy translation work or just misunderstanding . You always go with the clear  98%,  not the misunderstood 2%.

Some “lust” Bible verses from KJV

Exodus 15:9 KJV

The enemy said , I will pursue , I will overtake , I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.

In a Easton's Bible Dictionary they say "lust" is "sinful desire or sinful longing" -- wrong definition. The Bible in Basic English and the New Century Bible makes it a lot clearer just use "desire".

  • Lust

Lust [N] [B] sinful longing; the inward sin which leads to the falling away from God ( Romans 1:21 ).

    Dictionaries - Easton's Bible Dictionary - Lust

Exodus 15:9 (Bible in Basic English)

9 Egypt said, I will go after them, I will overtake, I will make division of their goods: my desire will have its way with them; my sword will be uncovered, my hand will send destruction on them.

Exodus 15:9 (New Century Version)

9 "The enemy bragged, 'I'll chase them and catch them. I'll take all their riches; I'll take all I want. I'll pull out my sword, and my hand will destroy them.'

Psalm 78:18 KJV

And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.

Psalm 78:18 NCV

18 They decided to test God by asking for the food they wanted.

Psalm 78:18 (Bible in Basic English)

18 Testing God in their hearts, requesting meat for their desire.

They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,

So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.

Matthew 5:28 KJV

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Matthew 5:28 (New Century Version)

28 But I tell you that if anyone looks at a woman and wants to sin sexually with her, in his mind he has already done that sin with the woman.

Matthew 5:28 (Bible in Basic English)

28 But I say to you that everyone whose eyes are turned on a woman with desire has had connection with her in his heart.

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another ; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet .

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid . Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said , Thou shalt not covet .

Romans 7:7 (New Century Version)

7 You might think I am saying that sin and the law are the same thing. That is not true. But the law was the only way I could learn what sin meant. I would never have known what it means to want to take something belonging to someone else if the law had not said, "You must not want to take your neighbor's things."

Romans 7:7 (Bible in Basic English)

7 What then is to be said? is the law sin? in no way. But I would not have had knowledge of sin but for the law: for I would not have been conscious of desire if the law had not said, You may not have a desire for what is another's.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted .

1 Corinthians 10:6 (New Century Version)

6 And these things happened as examples for us, to stop us from wanting evil things as those people did.

1 Brothers and sisters, I want you to know what happened to our ancestors who followed Moses. They were all under the cloud and all went through the sea.

2 They were all baptized as followers of Moses in the cloud and in the sea.

3 They all ate the same spiritual food, 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. They drank from that spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.

5 But God was not pleased with most of them, so they died in the desert.

6 And these things happened as examples for us, to stop us from wanting evil things as those people did.

7 Do not worship idols, as some of them did. Just as it is written in the Scriptures: "They sat down to eat and drink, and then they got up and sinned sexually (“fornication”)."

(Nu 25: 1-9 “fornication = sexually joining in with the pagan fertility god worship)

8 We must not take part in sexual sins, (“fornication”) as some of them did. In one day twenty-three thousand of them died because of their sins.Nu 25: 1-9  Nu 31

9 We must not test Christ as some of them did; they were killed by snakes.

10 Do not complain as some of them did; they were killed by the angel that destroys.

11 The things that happened to those people are examples. They were written down to teach us, because we live in a time when all these things of the past have reached their goal.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

James 1:14 KJV

1:14 But every man is tempted , when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed .

1:15 Then when lust hath conceived , it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished , bringeth forth death.

James 1:14-15 (Bible in Basic English)

14 But every man is tested when he is turned out of the right way by the attraction of his desire. 15 Then when its time comes, desire gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is of full growth, gives birth to death.

James 1:14-15 (New Century Version)

14 But people are tempted when their own evil desire leads them away and traps them. 15 This desire leads to sin, and then the sin grows and brings death.

James 1:1 From James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. To all of God's people who are scattered everywhere in the world: Greetings.

2 My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy,

3 because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience.

4 Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need.

5 But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous and enjoys giving to all people, so he will give you wisdom.

6 But when you ask God, you must believe and not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like a wave in the sea, blown up and down by the wind.

7 8 Such doubters are thinking two different things at the same time, and they cannot decide about anything they do. They should not think they will receive anything from the Lord.

9 Believers who are poor should be proud, because God has made them spiritually rich.

10 Those who are rich should be proud, because God has shown them that they are spiritually poor. The rich will die like a wild flower in the grass.

11 The sun rises with burning heat and dries up the plants. The flower falls off, and its beauty is gone. In the same way the rich will die while they are still taking care of business.

12 When people are tempted and still continue strong, they should be happy. After they have proved their faith, God will reward them with life forever. God promised this to all those who love him.

13 When people are tempted, they should not say, "God is tempting me." Evil cannot tempt God, and God himself does not tempt anyone.

14 But people are tempted when their own evil desire leads them away and traps them.

15 This desire leads to sin, and then the sin grows and brings death.

16 My dear brothers and sisters, do not be fooled about this.

17 Every good action and every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Creator of the sun, moon, and stars, who does not change like their shifting shadows.

18 God decided to give us life through the word of truth so we might be the most important of all the things he made.

19 My dear brothers and sisters, always be willing to listen and slow to speak. Do not become angry easily,

20 because anger will not help you live the right kind of life God wants.

21 So put out of your life every evil thing and every kind of wrong. Then in gentleness accept God's teaching that is planted in your hearts, which can save you.

22 Do what God's teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.

23 Those who hear God's teaching and do nothing are like people who look at themselves in a mirror.

24 They see their faces and then go away and quickly forget what they looked like.

25 But the truly happy people are those who carefully study God's perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard, but they obey what God's teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy.

26 People who think they are religious but say things they should not say are just fooling themselves. Their "religion" is worth nothing.

27 Religion that God accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help, and keeping yourself free from the world's evil influence.

Ye lust , and have not: ye kill , and desire to have , and cannot obtain : ye fight and war , yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

2:17 And the world passeth away , and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:16-17 (Bible in Basic English)

16 Because everything in the world, the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but of the world. 17 And the world and its desires is coming to an end: but he who does God's pleasure is living for ever.

************1 John 2:16-17 (New Century Version) **********************

16 These are the ways of the world: wanting to please our sinful selves, wanting the sinful things we see, and being too proud of what we have. None of these come from the Father, but all of them come from the world. 17 The world and everything that people want in it are passing away, but the person who does what God wants lives forever.
