Bible Eph 4 Old life vs New life

The old life of worshiping Pagan fertility pagan gods and other Baal's pagan  god's to be a Christ follower. Christians were always surrounded by the Major religion of the day,  Baal's pagan god's , especially the very popular  fertility pagan  god worship.

Eph 4 is repeated many times in the other of Paul's books also, old vs new life by Paul writing to different churches the same similar message.

Be sure to read in context coming from fertility pagan god worshiping to trusting in Christ. Some falling back to joining in with the worship of the pagan fertility god again not go to heaven because they worship pagan fertility gods again. (this is called fornication in the Bible)  1 Cor 10:8 compare Nu 25: 1-9

Eph 4:5 You have one Master, one faith, one baptism,

6 one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness.

Eph 2: 2,3

2 You let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. 3 We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It's a wonder God didn't lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us.

 Rom 6:6

Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the Cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life - no longer at sin's every beck and call! What we believe is this:

1peter 4:3

You've already put in your time in that God-ignorant way of life, partying night after night, a drunken and profligate life. Now it's time to be done with it for good.

col 3:10

Now you're dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.

acts26:18

to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I'm sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me.'

Gal 4:8

8 Earlier, before you knew God personally, you were enslaved to so-called gods that had nothing of the divine about them. 9 But now that you know the real God - or rather since God knows you - how can you possibly subject yourselves again to those paper tigers?

1 thes 4:5

3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in thelust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God:

Rom 1:21

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people, or birds and animals and snakes.

Eph 2:1-3,

1 Once you were dead, doomed forever because of your many sins.

2 You used to live just like the rest of the world, full of sin, obeying Satan, the mighty prince of the power of the air. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.

3 All of us used to live that way, following the passions and desires of our evil nature (man made human sin principal) . We were born with an evil nature, (man made human sin principal) and we were under God's anger just like everyone else.

Col 3:7

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear , then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

5 Mortifytherefore your members which are upon the earth;

fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evilconcupiscence, and covetousness,

which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another , seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that createdhim:

1 peter 4:3

2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 5 Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.

Ephesians 4:19 ASV

American Standard Version

who being past feeling gave themselves up to lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

Ephesians 4:19 CEB

Common English Bible

They are people who lack all sense of right and wrong, and who have turned themselves over to doing whatever feels good and to practicing every sort of corruption along with greed.

Ephesians 4:19 NLT

New Living Translation

They don't care anymore about right and wrong, and they have given themselves over to immoral ways. Their lives are filled with all kinds of impurity and greed.

We'll not tolerate babes in the woods, small children who are an easy mark for impostors.

15 God wants us to grow up, to know the whole truth and tell it in love - like Christ in everything. We take our lead from Christ, who is the source of everything we do.

16 He keeps us in step with each other. His very breath and blood flow through us, nourishing us so that we will grow up healthy in God, robust in love. The Old Way Has to Go

17 And so I insist - and God backs me up on this - that there be no going along with the crowd, the empty-headed, mindless crowd.

18 They've refused for so long to deal with God that they've lost touch not only with God but with reality itself.

19 They can't think straight anymore. Feeling no pain, they let themselves go in sexual obsession, addicted to every sort of perversion.

20 But that's no life for you. You learned Christ!

21 My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus.

22Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything - and I do mean everything - connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life - a God-fashioned life,

23 a life renewed from the inside

24 and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.

25 What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ's body we're all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself.

26Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry - but don't use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don't stay angry. Don't go to bed angry.

27 Don't give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.

28Did you used to make ends meet by stealing? Well, no more! Get an honest job so that you can help others who can't work.

29 Watch the way you talk.

Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth. Say only what helps, each word a gift.

30 Don't grieve God. Don't break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don't take such a gift for granted.

31 Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk.

32 Be gentle with one another, sensitive.

Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.

Jas 2:12 - So whenever you speak, or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law of love, the law that set you free.

Romans 7:4 (GW) In the same way, brothers and sisters, you

have died to the laws in Moses' Teachings through

Christ's body. You belong to someone else, the one who

was brought back to life. As a result, we can do what

God wants.

Ro 13:9 - For the commandments against adultery and murder and stealing and coveting – and any other commandment are all summed up in this one commandment: "Love your neighbor as yourself."

2Co 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
